Dive Into The Arts at These Classes in Boston

Our luxury apartments in Mission Hill, Boston are near unique cultural experiences, including several venues for artisan classes. Here are a few to check out when you’re in the mood to flex your creative side.

Diablo Glass School

In the 1800s, the Boston area was home to two of America's most prominent glassworks. Now, it's rare to find someone practicing this traditional art form. At Diablo Glass School, teaching artisans pass on the skills to make stunning versions of everyday objects, from bowls and paperweights to suncatchers.

Watch a glassblowing demonstration at a Fire and Wine night while savoring wine and cheese. When you're ready to get hands-on, try out a class in glassblowing, flameworking, or stained glass. Private lessons are also available.

Puppet Showplace Theatre

Connect to youthful nostalgia and admire and learn more about puppets. The Puppet Showplace Theatre hosts a wide variety of performances, both in the daytime and evening. The theatre is also home to a puppeteering library and a puppet store.

If you're "puppet-curious," head to the Hatchery. It’s a lowkey monthly workshop where you can brainstorm ideas, discuss works-in-progress, and make puppets. Currently, performances and workshops are virtual.

Eliot School

For a broad array of options under one roof, check out the Eliot School of Fine and Applied Arts. It's a bit farther from home at 95 Saint, but the breadth of artisan classes is incredible. Instructors offer techniques as wide-ranging as furniture restoration, basketry, and printmaking. Whether you want to use a sewing machine for the first time or delve into upholstery, you'll be fascinated by something in the Eliot School's catalog.

To celebrate something you've learned or made at Boston artisan classes, kick back at a local brewery. Or kick back at home, because there's no place like it. Contact us today for a tour. We'd love to welcome you.
